New friends
The blue boat is the 'Isle de France' which is crewed by the lovely French Canadian couple Jean-Pierre and Joanne. We have spent a couple of evening with them, the first on 'Pearl' and the second a lovely meal on 'Isle de France'. The people we have been meeting along the way have been both a pleasure and an inspiration.

BVI's
Due to Hurricane damage the customs and immigration wasn't open in Gorda sound so we sailed round to Spanish Town to check in. On dropping the anchor we enjoyed a great view down the Sir Francis Drake Channel topped by a rainbow. If only these waters could talk I would be grilling them about tales of pirates and treasure.

Contrasts
It's a world of contrasts and modern travel enables you to jump from one to another. I went from blazing hot sun and jumping over the side for a shower to flying in to London for a black tie talk in the Grosvenor House Hotel. Really enjoyed it for they were a lovely group and I managed to see Alex and Eliot which was a real treat. I can't wait for a time machine to be invented to save the hours of flying.

Rowing
I forgot to say that we had the privilege of watching the arrival of the world record winners of the Atlantic Rowing race. An incredible feat and what was really impressive is that they looked like they could have turned around and done it all again - a well-planned and disciplined team.

Apologies
Just to say this comes from the BVI's where we are about to leave for the Turks and Caicos. I have loads of blogs and pictures to upload but can't get a wifi that will support it. We should be about four days so I'll update from either the Turks and Caicos or the Bahamas which we will carry on towards if we have a fair wind. Cheers Pete

This is what an early departure looks like from Jolly Harbour, Antigua with the sun just coming up over the hills. If you didn't know any better it could be NZ
